Concrete staircase spirals up through Pezo von Ellrichshausens Casa Gago

A spiralling concrete staircase킠connects the 12 platforms that make up this split-level house in킠San Pedro de la Paz, Chile, by Chilean firm킠Pezo von Ellrichshausen (photos by Cristobal Palma + slideshow).

Conan House by Moon Hoon

South Korean architect Moon Hoon designed this home with missing corners for a figurine collector and his family (+ slideshow). Moon Hoon designed the house for an empty plot beside a lake in Bangdong, an area of South Korea popular with tourists.

Pit House by UID Architects

Circular hollows create sunken rooms and curved balconies inside this wooden house in Japan by UID Architects (+ slideshow). The residence is named Pit House, in reference to the six excavated spaces that provide circular living rooms inside the building and terraces in the garden.
