Light Bulb Kettle By Estelle Sauvage

2 Sep

Estelle Sauvage, a graduate of Ecole Nationale supérieure d’Art et de Design de Saint-Etienne (whew, thats a mouthful) has reimagined and reworked the good old kettle, and we love the final result. To get that piping hot cup of tea, Sauvage quite brilliantly equips the kettle with a lightbulb. The kettle can heat water at a temperature of 85 / 90° which is ideal for tea and the incandescent light bulb 100W along with the water, makes for a riveting design imagery.

We love the serenity of this new and sleek plumbing collection by Aboutwater, a joint project by two famous Italian bathroom brands, Boffi and Fantini. Japanese designer Naoto Fukusawa created this contemporary collection for the Italian companies by simplifying forms. Taking minimalism to the max, this collection embodies purity through its gently curved lines and simple details. “The taps and mixers become discs and cylinders; the taps reminiscent of the forms found on the controls of a stereo, the mixers the concise elegance of the language of iconography,” according to Aboutwater. The plumbing collection includes wall- and deck-mounted faucets, tub and shower fixtures, and comes in polished chrome and satin-finish chrome brass, bringing spa-inspired elegance to any bathroom. Check it out at Aboutwater.

A-Cero Modular House Looks Boring But It Really Isn’t

15 Aug

Looking at it from the outside, you’re probably not going to fall in love with the Modular House in the images below. But once you step right inside, at least virtually, you’ll completely change your mind. The Modular House has been designed by the team of architects at A-Cero and can be found in Coruna, Spain. The combination of glass and aluminum panels on the outside make it look like a warehouse from certain angles. But this 106-m2 Modular House will offer you three bedrooms, two baths, a hall, a dining room, a laundry room and a kitchen. And the interior will definitely surprise you with the simple and very modern furniture design. Just after the break you’ll find additional images, and the ones shot in the evening are my personal favorites. What do you think? Via A-Cero
