Style Park reported on a really cool new item that we thought was worth a second look – the Dornbracht Hot & Cold Water Dispenser is an essential for any modern kitchen. This cool hot and cold water dispenser blends comfort and convenience in one. With the push of a lever, you can easily enjoy near-boiling water temperatures for a hot cup of tea in an instant – no more waiting and watching for the kettle to boil! Push the lever in the opposite direction for cold water on demand – providing great refreshment on a hot day. This new product called iCrystal really pops providing cool speakers for the iPhone. The pod speakers are set into a docking station available in white, red and black colors. The pod speakers are lit inside which creates a distinct appearance when in use. The way the speakers are designed provides sound in every direction which is more functionally correct in home theater setup than a single direction speaker. iCrystal was created by Speakal and retails for $80 here. From Vandeventer + Carlander Architects comes a modern home design located on Lake Union, right in the city center.How fascinating it is to have a house on a lake! It would be interesting to know what the address of this home is. You probably did not see this coming, but there are a lot of similar floating houses on Lake Union. In fact, if I recall correctly, Tom Hanks owned one in the movie “Sleepless in Seattle”. This particular project was meant as a contemporary looking building with plenty of entertainment space. As you can see in the pictures below, there are many decks and the large floor to ceiling windows allow great views of the city in every direction. This is not exactly the most intimate crib, but it’s okay, as long as the owners don’t mind.

A lot has been said (through) on Urban Farming, but many don’t consider their feasibility.

I´m not being pessimist (I grow some of my own vegetables and herbs), but I think that urban farming goes more in the direction of the last phrase of the video: “could it (urban farming) help bringing some agriculture into the cities to bring us closer to our food again?”.

For those of you who spend time cooking here is an interesting idea designed by Tomas Kral that might be quite useful. The Lap Counter is a plastic tray and a neat kitchen facility, which gives you the mobility to peel, chop, slice fruits and vegetables almost anywhere in the house. It’s ergonomically shaped to fit the lap of the sitting person and it’s molded for both a container and a working surface.

It will barely siton your drying rack or fit in your washing machine, so it’s better thinking in the direction of assembling different modules, but besides that the Lap Counter is a brilliant facility for your prep cooking comfort. – Via – Dsgnwrld

Crafted with outmost elegance by German architects Confused-Direction, Schwimmhaus is a compact modern houseboat that keeps in tune with the tranquil environment that it ventures into. Built with eco-friendliness in mind, the houseboat sports a green roof and is being fabricated out of salvaged wood from an old farm house in addition to other sustainable building materials. Set for completion this spring, an inflatable model of Schwimmhaus threads the waters of Hunte River for now. Schwimmhaus, a Compact Modern Houseboat

Flo Florian and Sascha Akkermann of design firm Confused Direction have designed a lovely floating home. it is ecofriendly, too, with zero-emissions, a green roof, and materials such as 250 year old larch wood salvaged from an old farmer’s shed.
